How to Delete Your Account

We understand that sometimes you may want to delete your Cheapify account. We've made this process as straightforward as possible while ensuring your data is handled securely.

Steps to Delete Your Account:

1. Open the Cheapify App - Launch the app on your mobile device
2. Go to Settings - Navigate to your account settings from the main menu
3. Select "Account Management" - Find this option in your settings menu
4. Choose "Delete Account" - This will be at the bottom of the account management section
5. Confirm Deletion - You'll be asked to confirm this action as it cannot be undone
6. Enter Your Password - For security purposes, you'll need to verify your identity
7. Final Confirmation - Click "Delete My Account" to complete the process

What Happens When You Delete Your Account?

When you delete your Cheapify account, the following occurs:

• Immediate Access Removal: You will immediately lose access to your account and all associated features
• Data Deletion: Your personal information, shopping lists, preferences, and saved deals will be permanently deleted from our servers within 30 days
• Subscription Cancellation: Any active premium subscriptions will be automatically cancelled
• Email Unsubscription: You will be automatically unsubscribed from all marketing emails
• Anonymous Data: Some anonymized usage data may be retained for analytics purposes, but this cannot be linked back to you

Before You Delete Your Account

Please consider the following before proceeding with account deletion:

• Export Your Data: If you want to keep your shopping lists or saved deals, make sure to export or save this information before deletion
• Premium Subscription: If you have an active premium subscription, consider the timing of your deletion to avoid unnecessary charges
• Alternative Options: You might consider temporarily deactivating your account instead of permanent deletion
• Contact Support: If you're deleting due to an issue, our support team might be able to help resolve it

Account Deactivation Alternative

If you're not sure about permanently deleting your account, you can temporarily deactivate it instead:

• Your account will be hidden and inaccessible
• Your data will be preserved
• You can reactivate your account at any time by logging in
• Your premium subscription will remain active (you may want to cancel it separately)

Data Retention Policy

In accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws:

• Personal data is deleted within 30 days of account deletion
• Some data may be retained longer if required by law
• Financial records related to subscriptions may be kept for tax and accounting purposes
• Anonymized analytics data may be retained indefinitely

Unable to Delete Your Account?

If you're having trouble deleting your account through the app, you can contact our support team:

• Subject Line: "Account Deletion Request"
• Include: Your registered email address and reason for deletion

Our support team will process your deletion request within 48 hours and confirm once it's complete.

After Account Deletion

Once your account is deleted:

• You will receive a confirmation email
• You can create a new account in the future if desired
• Previous account data cannot be recovered
• Any referral credits or rewards will be forfeited
